SLOW DADDY!!!

Godaddy sucks. I've been using them for several years and finally took the time to switch hosting company. What a difference! Wish I would have done it ages ago.

Godaddy's servers are so incredibly slow, you can barely work, upload or download your files on godaddy hosting. Their control panel is so disorganized and not at all user friendly. You spend half a day just trying to keep your connection if you're working on files because the server is so bad. I complained about the bad server for three years. No improvements.

In addition, the company is the pits to deal with and have a bad reputation. They keep all your payment details on file and you can't delete them. And what happens when they keep them on file? Any details they have, they scan any available credit card to charge you even if you don't want to continue paying for an item and just want to allow it to expire.

This system is so sneaky and cunning to get money off you, they've added charges to my billing several times over the years that are not my orders. Its impossible to get it corrected because their customer support is deplorable, and you are always wrong no matter what. The billing is not itemized, so you don't know if the charges you get onto your card (or several cards in their files) are for domains, hosting, emails, shopping carts or things you've never even ordered. I never needed anything but a domain and economy hosting, but found godaddy had charged me for over a year for email accounts (I never use hosted emails) and shopping carts. When I denied ordering this - which I never have - they of course claimed I did. None of these additional features had even been activated or used, showing there's something wrong of them being added to my account. But godaddy still refused to credit me for them.

There's two possibilities how this has happened. one is that when you register a domain or hosting, their site would add all sorts of features to your order which you had to unselect. There are so many of these, its easy to not see all of them. Lately they have at least changes it so you need to select them instead of unselecting items you don't want. Its still a very cunning and deceptive way of pushing services on you that you don't select yourself.

Another reason can be the following: They had a sales team that would call me all the time to "renew" accounts. I found they often tried to , add items you don't need or want. Since its impossible to know on your credit card bill what godaddy has charged you for, its difficult to keep a track of it. After all, most people have full time jobs and can't sit and monitor a conn-company like godaddy on a weekly basis. I am 100% sure the company keeps the control panel as bad as they can, cramped with junk, to make it more difficult for you to actually see what junk they add to your account and charges. Its a deceptive way of conning you to buy services you never asked for.

Do you think godaddy will ever credit all the charges back to you even if they can see they have never been activated and must therefore be on the account unwillingly? Never! They have an excuse for everything; everything from their lousy slow servers, to their surprise billing to their worthless customer support. I think their customer support will eventually kill their business off completely. That's how bad it is.

Don't waste time and money trying to save $1 more a month on godaddy when you can have much better hosting with other companies. I've had no problems with either billing, or servers with Hostmonster, Bluehost, medita temple, dream host, etc.

I have fallen victim to GoDaddy twice! The first time I found out that my system was not compatible with theirs, and I got some money back but not all. The second time I saw an advertisment that said that they were now compatible with older windows systems, so I checked them out. At first the site builder was working, but then as I got deeper into the process, the buttons wouldn't work, they'd freeze up my computer and for two months I still couldn't make a site, so I told them to cancel it. I had gotten their charge card, so they said that I'd have to cancel that too. I did, but still I did not get a full refund, and that balance kept earning interest on that card! I lost my job and couldn't pay on it, so now it's in collections after quite a bit of interest. I don't have any money for lawyers, and legal aid doesn't do websites according to them, so if anyone wants to start a lawsuit on them, I'll be happy to get in on it, because they ARE rip off artists, and Danica Patrick should be ashamed!
